Problem-Solving directs thinking towards independently solving problems.
The starting point is to create
problem-situation,
which means a
contradictory situation, a conflict between the previous knowledge and
experience and the novelty
element the student is facing.
The tension (conflict) is created between past
experience (what they already know)
and novelty. This
tension will lead to action, to seek (investigate)
and to anticipate
the solution to resolve this
tension.
Fundamental
moments:
- problem
formulation, confrontation, perception and problem awareness
- depth study, understanding the
problem and restructuring its data
- looking for possible solutions
to the problem discussed
- discovery of truths, correlations, rules
- getting the final
result, the solution and its evaluation
- solution
validation.
