Function:

  • Through the analysis of the learning-process, learning itself can be ameliorated.
  • Students can furthermore through reflection become aware of their own knowledge gaps and need of further competences.
  • After all students become more aware of their own responsibility within the learning-process.

Ways of achieving function:
It is important to motivate the learners to reflect on their learning, learning-process and their own development. A certain continuity of reflection is essential to be able to reflect on the process rather than separate incidents.
Reflection can be done in written and/or oral form.

Methods:
• Learning-Diary (e.g. blog )
• Questionnaires (written or online)
• Video-Log, Audio-Log ( video-sharing , podcast )
• Dialog with other learners and/or teachers (e.g. forum , Chat )
